A reception was held for Aweñheeyoh Powless’ solo exhibition on Thursday November 20, 2008 at Weiskotten Hall, University Medical Science Library.
Awenheeyoh displayed both photographs and original oil paintings. Three of her paintings were pr eviously given awards in different art shows this year. He told of how her work was judged against many estabished artists in the field.
Awenheeyoh then addressed the people attending, telling how she creates her art and where she derives her inspiration for her painting and photos. She was very honored to have been asked to show her art and was very glad that she part of the Native American Awareness month at Syracuse University.
