Roster is set for U19 Championships

The Iroquois Nationals Lacrosse the only sanctioned indigenous sports team playing worldwide. Today they are announcing their team26 player selections for the 2012 World Lacrosse Under-19 Championships in Turku, Finland. The opening ceremonies for the Federation of International Lacrosse’s 2012 U-19 World Lacrosse Championships begins July 12, 2012 with the series concluding with the Gold Medal game scheduled for July 21, 2012.
The Iroquois Nationals Lacrosse U-19 National Team will compete in the World Lacrosse Championships against Czech Republic, Canada, USA, England, Finland, Germany, Korea, Netherlands, and Australia. The Iroquois Nationals U-19 will play their first game at 4:00pm on July 13th versus Team England.
The Iroquois Nationals 2012 Team won a Silver Medal at the World Indoor Championships last year in Prague, Czech Republic. The 2010 Iroquois Nationals Team known as “Sovereignty Pride” was not allowed to participate in the 2010 WC due to an international travel snafu to Manchester, England.
The players on this year’s 2012 team comprise high boys ranging in ages from 16-19 years old. All players are indigenous and represent the Native American nations of the Haudenosaunee: Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca, Cayuga, and Tuscarora together with the Hiawatha First Nation.
The Iroquois Nationals are very proud to announce the 2012 Under-19 National Lacrosse Team of the Haudenosaunee, the team members are: Frank Brown, Hank Delisle, Orris Edwards, Seth Oakes, Ky Tarbell, Anthony Patterson, Johnny Powless, Zed Williams, Quinn Powless, Randy Staats, Brendan Bomberry, Jake Bomberry, Wenster Green, Zach Miller, Lyle Thompson, Chris George, Kyle Isaacs, Jesse Jimerson, Tyler LaFonte, Korin Sunday, Oakley Thomas, Trey Adams, Warren Hill, Vaughn Harris, Dalston Day, and Tyson Bomberry.
This year the Iroquois Nationals’ team management and staff are: Gewas Schindler, General Manager; Boss Bucktooth, Head Coach; Marty Ward, Coach; Ansley Jemison; Coach, Delby Powless, Coach; and Jason Johnson, Coach.
The Iroquois U-19 team will play their second game on July 14th, versus Team Germany@ 10 am, July 15th versus Team Canada @1 pm, July 16th versus Australia @ 7pm, and July 17th versus Team USA @ 1pm.
