In honor of 1794 Canandaigua Treaty Day on November 11th, this is an excerpt from the 2012 February Press Conference in Washington DC. In this excerpt Oren Lyons discusses the events leading to the Canandaigua Treaty and the role the newly elected president George Washington had in creating this peace treaty in reassuring that Haudenosaunee lands will be safe.
