On Saturday August 25, 2012 at 10:45 pm, WCNY 24 broadcasting out of Syracuse, New York will present “The Game of Life, Heart and Spirit of the Onondaga” on its airways.
“The Game of Life, Heart and Spirit of the Onondaga” is a documentary that grew from the filming of the film Crooked Arrows, a feature film starring many members from the Onondaga Nation.
“We wanted a way to share more about what lacrosse means to the Onondaga Nation,” says Neal Powless, co-producer of the film.
Powless added, “We tried to put as many elements about lacrosse life in the film but there is just too much to try to put in one film so naturally this documentary was a natural progression.”
The documentary features many from the Nation including; Tadodaho Sidney Hill, Chief Irving Powless Jr., Faithkeeper Oren Lyons, and many more.
The documentary was filmed on the Onondaga Nation, which also produced it in cooperation with the office of Electronic Media Communications at Syracuse University.
Neal Powless and Tyler Hill (Crooked Arrow’s Jimmy Silverfoot) will make an appearance on the Jim Reith show on Thursday, August 23rd at 6:30pm.
