Inside Lacrosse: Team USA scored 12 second half goals to overcome a 7-5 halftime deficit and defeat the Iroquois Nationals in their opening game of the FIL World Championships. Led by attackman Rob Pannell’s three goals and four assists, as well as a 17-for-19 performance at the X by face-off midfielder Trevor Baptiste, the U.S. dominated the second half en route to their opening victory. However in the first half, the Iroquois outplayed the U.S. in every aspect.
The Iroquois shot out to a two-goal lead after scoring on their first three shots. A man-up chance easily converted by attackman Tehoka Nanticoke made it 3-0 with 12:25 left in the first and Team USA were back on their heels not even 10 minutes into the first quarter.
