Due to the recent increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the community, the ONHC is scaling back our in-person visits in the clinic for both medical and dental appointments and will be doing more telemedicine type visits. We are doing this for the safety of both the community and the clinic staff. We hope these changes are temporary, but our schedules will remain this way as long as the number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise.
The ONHC has been notified of at least 67 cases Of COVID-19 since the pandemic started in March. Of these, 59 cases have been confirmed since the beginning of November.
Unfortunately the ONHC cannot test everyone in the community. Testing done at the clinic will be based on appointment availability and the medical need to be tested.
Please assist us in controlling the spread of COVID-19 by doing your part:
• Continue to wear masks, wash your hands frequently, and avoid large gatherings with people not in your household.
• If you are ill and are tested, you must stay at home until you receive your results and have been given further instructions by a medical provider and/or the Onondaga County Health Department.
• If you are exposed and test negative for COVID-19, you still need to quarantine for a full 14 days.
Medical research has shown that our population is at a higher risk of contracting the virus due to underlying medical conditions. We understand that it is a stressful time for everyone and appreciate you all for making it a habit to follow the guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19.
