On July 23, 2023, the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater hosted Phish on the shores on Onondaga Lake. Phans for Racial Equality posted this land statement prior to the sold out concert.
We acknowledge, with respect, the Onondaga Nation, Firekeepers of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the sovereign nation on whose unceded lands Syracuse, NY currently resides. The Onondaga Nation continues to maintain their traditions, language, and sovereign government as the longest standing democratic government on Turtle Island. We therefore call on all gathered here today to reflect on its relationship and responsibility to the people and the lands of the Onondaga.
